President Dick Towle opened the meeting of January 12th with a greeting and a bit of information about various and sundry things pertaining to computers and computerese. For the first time, Powerpoint was used for a slide presentation created by Secretary Ken. It was well received and Ken is now encouraged to create more exciting slides for future meetings.
The library forgot to set up an outside line for our Internet use, so we had to forego that part of our program for the evening. Many things were discussed, but until we find out from our main group what is the future direction for Sacra Blue, eBlue, the listserv, etc. we will delay any further comments on such.
Questions and Answers were few, but some solutions were given and we will learn at the next meeting whether they worked or not.
Dick demonstrated many useful tidbits of information using the computer for members were not all that well versed in these particulars. No formal program was presented tonight, but a nice meeting was held informally.
After refreshments were served, everyone left with a program/prize of one type or another, thanks to Ken and others who have donated surplus software and hardware.
Again we remind you all that Gold Country Chapter meets on the second Wednesday of each month. The Steering Committee meets on the third Tuesday of each month.
