Highlights from the June 2000
Steering Committee Meeting

  • Treasurer Don Frieze reports income from dues renewals and new memberships is back to normal levels. Net income comes to $460 and this is just the beginning. A proposed budget was submitted.
  • Steering Committee officially approved Diana DeMuth as Membership Director. We thank Marsha Leonard for her long service. 475 renewal notices were mailed. Suggest we send another invite to past and expired members. More discussion ensued on how to promote the group. Ideas included corporate memberships and offering childcare.
  • Follow-up on reducing Sacramento Association of Realtors (SAR) room rental rate. New rate is $200 provided that only the front half of the room will be occupied, no coffee service is provided, audience will police their immediate area, clean up volunteers to pick up trash.
  • John Crow of the Beginners' SIG obtained permission from SAR to personally set up and tear down the SIG's meeting area in the back of the room. (It was suggested that the sound-deadening blue tarp be hung inside the structure.)
  • Suggested that the Shareware Librarian evaluate and publish more product reviews. Encourage the Librarian to demonstrate select shareware at the meetings.
