Updated SPCUG Volunteer List
| |
Hello, all volunteers. I have updated the SPCUG Officers List; please consider this list in verifying your contact and job information. If you have corrections, additions, or deletions, contact me as soon as possible before this list is published again next month in eBlue and Sacra Blue.
Tom Anderson, our Executive Vice President, will fill in at the November monthly meeting while Milt Hull and Ken Hopkins are attending COMDEX. Contact Tom directly for more information about this very promising night of exploring new ideas and presenting a unique format. This could be an exciting and fun-filled evening with many possibilities for SPCUG members to help out.
New Volunteers
We needed another transcriptionist for the Meeting Report to stand in for Terri Naleway at the August meeting. Terri has been doing this job faithfully for years, but could not help us out with August. I gently approached Dennis Solheim at the Steering Committee meeting about the position. He said without hesitation that he would be glad to do it, and would even consider it on a long-term basis. That's the way volunteering usually works at the SPCUG—gently and without hesitation.
Volunteer Thanks
I appreciate all your efforts, too, as members of one of the finest user groups on the West coast, in filling our volunteer positions. You have responded to my requests for help, and filled all of our relevant and necessary SPCUG positions. As such, I have only one job opening left (see below), and that may already be taken by the time I submit this writing. A thank you to all for your help with the group’s duty roster: elected officers, appointed officers, newsletter and Web editors, Chapter/SIG leaders, mentors, question and answer helpers, and those that temporarily help out at our general meetings.
Volunteer Openings
Please take a look at the following volunteer openings. If you think you can help the group, give me a call at 916-921-6414, or drop me an e-mail.
- Calendar Editor
- Edits the 2 1/2 month calendar found in back of Sacra Blue (Word document).
Edits the Chapter and SIG meeting list.
I am sure you will find volunteer work for the group very rewarding, and it could even create some interesting opportunities for you. You may be surprised how little time is involved in some of the positions that hold great benefit for the group.
