WordPerfect SIG

The WordPerfect SIG met on Thursday, February 28th. One of the topics discussed was the fact that if you e-mail or copy to disc a WP document to give to someone else, you might want to turn off the Undo/Redo history. You can do this by going to Edit-Undo/Redo History-Options, and then make sure there is no check next to "Save Undo/Redo History with document." That history travels with the document unless turned off. You can have up to 300 undo/redo actions.

If you use em dashes or en dashes in your documents, you can do so by pressing the hyphen key either 3 or 2 times, with a space before and after the hyphen marks. When the space is put in after the hyphen marks the hyphen marks become one character.

There are many symbols and marks that can be used in a WP document. Just go to your Windows Start key and click Programs, Accessories, and Character Map. This will bring up a box full of different symbols and marks—and it changes as you change fonts. You can select any of these characters to go into your document.

Next meeting will be Thursday March 28th at 6:00 p.m. at 7525 Auburn Boulevard, Room 9b. Hope to see you there!
