Best Free Software: Pricelessware - The people who spend a lot of time in the Usenet newsgroup alt.comp.freeware regularly vote on the best free software in many categories. This is Pricelessware, the regularly-updated list of current favorites, with links to the download sites for each. No adware, no spyware, just the best free software.
Free E-Mail Programs: Web Attack Freeware - You don't have to pay for a program to replace Outlook Express. If you want to escape the virus/worm attacks that plague Microsoft's e-mail program, here are many free programs offering advanced features that are completely free. The offerings here include Calypso, Pegasus, and Eudora.
Free E-Book Reader: eText Viewer - There are a lot of places to get free e-books in text format, the most notable being Project Gutenberg, which is publishing e-book versions of the classics for free distribution. But reading these books in Notepad is a drag. Here's a free viewer that allows for plenty of customization, and that remembers your bookmarks and your position in the book to make it easier to stop and re-start.
Free Domain Hosting: Freehosting Web - Okay, I confess I haven't tried this and can't testify that it's a good deal. But (according to their Web page) for $49.95 up front, you get free domain name registration, free Web site (25 MB) including e-commerce, Linux or FrontPage hosting, POP3 e-mail, and no ads! As long as you renew your domain name (for $12 a year) you get the free hosting, and there's a 10-day money-back guarantee. It sounds terrific—but sign up at your own risk.
Best Free Program Each Month: Freeware Guide - This is Freeware Guide's page for the best free program each month. The page lists not only the current month's program, but also the past few years' selections. Download and home page links are included.
Free Web Photo Tool: http://www.photoactions.com/ - PhotoActions' AlbumWeb is a tool for creating an HTML album of your digital photos, complete with thumbnails, for viewing on your Web site or any computer. The albums you create can have different appearances, based on themes that are built in or that you create. And of course, the albums can be viewed by anyone with a browser.

Freebies of All Kinds: 101 Resources - Free t-shirts, free .mp3s, free software—freebies of every kind and description. Note that some of these are the sort of stuff where "free" means "no added cost" on top of the regular cost. But there's lots here to grab.
Free Internet Browser: Opera - Opera has been around for a while, but never convinced me to use it regularly. Version 6 is out now and I'm a convert. Yes, you do have to put up with an ad if you want it free, but the ad is fixed in place and doesn't unreasonably crowd your screen. And the ads are downloaded once a week, so you don't generally have to sit through downloads for every Web page. On top of that, Opera is fast. I didn't do any formal testing, but my subjective feeling is that it's two or three times as fast as IE and Netscape. And there are lots of user-friendly touches. Give it a try!
Free Windows Tweaking Tool: XTEQ - This is the home of X-Setup, the ultimate tool for tweaking Windows. Control all those settings that otherwise require editing the registry. A superb tool, and free.
