At promptly 7:00 p.m. on April 20, chapter president Dick Towle welcomed members and guests to our April chapter meeting. After a lively discussion in our Q&A session, Dick went on to introduce our guest presenter, David Whittle, who did a great job of showing two programs created by MGI: PhotoSuite II and VideoWave II.
David is owner of Webworking Services, and one of his clients is MGI. Dave worked for many years with IBM in Florida and has a lot of experience in marketing, communications, etc. David also wrote a book entitled Cyberspace: The Human Dimension.
MGI has the largest share of photo enhancement programs sold.
PhotoSuite II is a "living program." It has been designed to grow with your needs, interests, and abilities. It can be connected seamlessly to MGI's Web site, where you'll find new and exciting special effects, templates, photos, and content files. This program is based upon modular building blocks. One can effortlessly capture, touch up, transform, organize, create, show, and share photos.
With PhotoSuite II, you create albums using stored photos, video, sound, and so on. You can create slide shows with photos transitions,

background music and sound effects. You can edit photographs, resize and rotate them, and touch them up. Also provided are step-by step guides, home and business projects (such as creating photo collages and making cards and calendars), and Internet facilities allowing you to directly access the web, connect directly to Online Photo Services, and share photos with friends and family via e-mail. These are just a few of the things that PhotoSuite II does. David did a bang-up job of showing most of the things the program does with photos. The price is much less expensive than many other highly touted similar programs. And using it was simpler.
A highly discounted price was offered to the PCUG members in attendance. Ken Weger, our secretary, was the lucky holder of the winning ticket for a complementary copy. However, everyone went home with a prize of one kind or another. You never know what you have missed if you don't attend each and every meeting.
Our next meeting is May 18th (the third Tuesday) at 7:00 p.m. in the Placer County Library at 350 Nevada Street, Auburn. Don't forget to visit our Web site for upcoming meeting information and other notable news.

——Ken Weger
