Only One Job Remains...

Yes! Only one job remains on my volunteer platter: meeting transcriber. Actually, we could use several and you could be one of our new meeting transcribers. This is a vital position for the group, interpreting and writing the happenings at our general meetings from the tape-recorded records. Your work is then sent on to the editor for submission in the next issue of Sacra Blue. Many people that can’t make the meeting depend on reading the meeting reports each month.
I would like to introduce our new Product Review Coordinator, Chuck Sinclair, and our new Assistant Meeting Recorder, Edwin Holloway. Thanks, Chuck and Edwin. They generously volunteered for these positions during my report to the Steering Committee last month. David Simpson will also be helping Tony Barcellos with his work in the Publicity Coordinator arena. Tony does a great job, but we welcome and can always use more volunteers. David, who has a few contacts with the Elk Grove newspaper, wanted to include a few new items about our group in that paper.

Volunteers hard at work last month were Brian Lavender, Mike Simons, Mark Weston, Harry Souders, and Frank Leonard. Brian, with Mike’s help, coordinated and setup a very nice booth at the Government Technology Conference to represent the SPCUG. Mark Weston, Harry Souders and Frank Leonard, along with Brian and Mike staffed the booth for the three day event—I even did a three hour shift for the fun of it.
Please take a look at the new job openings below. If you think you can help the group, give me a call at 916-921-6414 or drop me e-mail at stan@gohawk.com, and let’s talk about it.

Meeting Transcribers
The meeting transcribers can take notes during the general meeting to be delivered to the lead meeting reporter, who edits them and forwards them to the editor for submission in Sacra Blue. Several reporters are usually needed to cover the various portions of the general meeting, which include group business, one or more speakers, and who won door prizes.
