At promptly 7:30 p.m. on
Tuesday, June 15, chapter president Dick Towle started the Auburn chapter's June meeting with a
welcome and introduction of new members and guests.

Dick also demonstrated ZTree, a replacement (and improvement) for the no-longer- available
XTree. One of the questions asked early in the Beginners SIG was how to copy longer files
than would fit on a 1.44 MB floppy disk, and one answer was to utilize the split-file
utility of ZTree. This feature lets the user put in disks until ZTree finishes saving the
file across several disks. When you copy the floppy, ZTree automatically prompts you to
put in subsequent disks until the entire file has been copied. —Ken Weger |
