Hello, Everyone!

I have to say I'm a bit apprehensive about trying to follow in Eric's footsteps as the new editor of Sacra Blue, but I do look forward to the challenge. I am quite new to SPCUG and, though I'm embarrassed to admit it, I'm a neophyte in the computer world as well, so forgive my obvious ignorance about some of these matters. I have been an editor for the State Auditor for a couple of years, however, and have edited some technical and general-interest publications, so I do have some expertise to bring to Sacra Blue. And I'm already beginning to feel at home with the group after the warm welcome I've received from the Steering Committee.
I'm also delighted to have the help of associate editor Dion Gomez as well as the indispensible editorial, Web, and photography crew that keeps Sacra Blue and eBlue going each month. Before I've even started, I want to thank you all because I know I will feel most fortunate to have your help with each issue we produce. I also look forward to working with our Webmaster, Dave Eden (and his successor), and to having Eric's continued assistance in the transition. (You didn't think we'd just let him drop off the pages, did you?)

As for my own tenure as editor, I hope to continue the tradition of excellence that Eric has maintained for both Sacra Blue and eBlue. Eric and the crew have put in many, many hours to bring you a good product. I know many of you have concerns about some aspects of the publications, such as the smaller size of the print version and some kinks we have to work out online, and I want to assure you we will continue to look for solutions that will best fill everyone's needs. Some of these remedies will require your help, however. One of the options I would like to pursue is increasing our advertising base—so be on the lookout for calls for assistance in the very near future.
I welcome your input and assistance in putting out the best publication possible. If you have comments and suggestions, or if you would like to volunteer, please let me know. We rely on your assistance to make it work.
