Beginners SIG

I recently joined the SPCUG when I learned there was an Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) Study Group SIG. This SIG was just finishing up and I didn't want to see a good thing come to an end. Since I am studying for my MCSE+I (Internet) certification while working towards a degree in Computer Science, I wanted to keep this SIG alive, so I submitted a request to start another one. That's how I became involved in the SPCUG.
The MCSE+I study group meets every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. We meet at New Horizons the first Wednesday of each month and at the Madison Café for the remaining Wednesdays.

The mission of our group is not only to become MCSEs (or MCSE+1s), but to really know our products. Our motto is "What good is a piece of paper if you don't know what to do with it?" When I have completed my certification, I plan to continue attending the SIG meetings to maintain my knowledge of Microsoft NT applications. The group is currently studying NT Server.
This group has a Web site that lists planned meetings and the current topic being covered, as well as, the current members of the SIG. The address is www.mactraa.com/mcse/mcse.htm. I will add a message board to this site when time permits. If you are interested in joining, please contact me at cmesick@mactraa.com or drop in at our New Horizons meeting.
