Highlights of the Aug 11, 1999 Steering Committeee Meeting

Several chapters have not filed financial statements and therefore cannot claim chapter support checks. The Committee decided that chapters would forfeit their right to support payments for any quarter in which their financial statements are more than six months late.

A periodic revision to SPCUG's Policies and Procedures is in the works, and should be ready for approval in September.

Brian Smither was appointed to replace Dave Eden as Webmaster.

The Sacra Bytes BBS will cease to operate on September 9. All current users have been notified.

Brian Smither who is also Shareware Librarian, is copying almost all of our shareware library on a single Zip disk available to members for $15. Members will be able to exchange old disks for updated disks for an additional $5.

The IRS is attempting to assess severe penalties for our group's late filing of income tax returns. We have responded by letter, explaining that former treasurer, Shorter Rankin, failed to file returns during his term, but everything is now up to date. We are requesting that the IRS waive the penalties.
