The WP SIG meeting was held the 4th Thursday of August at 7:00 at the SMUD building on Elkhorn & Don Julio. Dennis Taylor, our resident presenter, put on an impromptu demonstration on creating a slide show using Corel PRESENTATIONS. It was an excellent presentation, which I believe he intends to expand upon at a later meeting. Thanks Dennis. One tip we learned was that if you need to present a slide show but the computer you will be using doesn't have Corel PRESENTATIONS, that's OK. Just make your slide show an executable file and you can take it with you. You don't need the PRESENTATIONS program to show it.
We also learned in the meeting that Corel has issued a Service Pack (36 MB) for the WP 2000 OFFICE program, which can be downloaded from its Web site. Service Pack 1 mostly has bug fixes, but includes some enhancements as well.

A question was raised about how to copy the Address Book. There are a couple of ways of doing this. First, you can go into WINDOWS Explore, click on Corel Directory, Shared Subdirectory, Address and then Database. Right click on Database and choose where you want to "Send To." You can also copy the Address Book by exporting under the File menu.
We also discussed making CD covers for your jewel cases. WP 8 and 9 both have a template for this that works quite well. There are some shareware programs out there that do this too, but there is really no need to use another program.
See you next month at 7 p.m. on September 23, same place.
