Our September meeting filled the room to capacity. Of course, that's not really saying very much, since the room only held fourteen people; but it wasn't too bad. So we had a "capacity crowd" for our featured presenter. It's too bad that he flubbed up his show! The crowd was friendly, the seats were comfortable and the equipment was OK; but the magic tricks just didn't work and the show was a flop.

Of course by now you might have guessed that I was the speaker. I had rehearsed Windows 95 tricks successfully on my own PC. However, the same steps didn't work at all on the borrowed PC I was using at the meeting. Specifically, I edited the Windows 95 registry in order to add more file types to the "New" menu that pops up when you right-click on the desktop, or in an Explorer window. I couldn't get it to work at the meeting, but thankfully I was able to restore the PC to the state it had before I edited its registry!

Clearly, there must be more to the magic than I realized. Ah, well-at least the audience got a full refund of their admission. Now, next month, I've got a real great show planned...
